SDMC: Only 10 districts rated red zone, Selangau, Bau see improvement

KUCHING, March 13: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) disclosed only 10 districts remain in the red zone status, as the situation in Selangau and Bau improved.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, Serian, Subis, Julau, Betong, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu has recorded a total of 2,503 cases in the last 14-days.

“Bau was reverted to the orange zone status from the red zone status after only recording 40 infection cases in the past 14-days, while Selangau district has also returned to the yellow zone status from the red zone status after only recording a total of 19 infection cases,” it said.


SDMC noted Dalat also changed its status to the yellow zone status from orange zone status after recording only 17 cases in the last 14-days.

“Today, Limbang changed its status to yellow zone status from the green zone status after recording two new infection cases in the district,” the statement added.

Three districts, namely Mukah, Song, and Sarikei, remain in the orange zone status as of today, with a total of 85 infection cases reported in the previous 14-days.

Telang Usah, Tanjung Manis, Sri Aman, Kanowit, Samarahan, Belaga, Lundu, Bukit Mabong, Tatau, Marudi, Pusa, Asajaya, Beluru, Saratok and Sebauh also continue as the yellow zone status with a total of 97 infection cases reported in the last two-weeks.

Eight other districts namely Tebedu, Simunjan, Lubok Antu, Kabong, Daro, Pakan, Matu and Lawas also stay in the green zone status. –DayakDaily.
