MIRI, Sept 26: A woman and her son were resting in a living room of their house in Spring Garden Riam when they heard incessant scratching noises yesterday morning.
Curious, the woman, 31, tracked down the source of the noise to her mother’s room where she was stunned to discover a two-feet long monitor lizard inside.
Fearing for her own safety as well as for that of her son, she immediately contacted the Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) for help.
The uniformed personnel arrived at the house at 10.04am and managed to capture the reptile to secure the room in less than 20 minutes. — DayakDaily
