School holidays for Chung Hua Middle Schools 1, 3 and 4 extended to Mar 29

KUCHING, Mar 16: All schools under Management Board of Kuching Chung Hua Middle Schools will extend their holidays until Mar 29.

These schools included Kuching Chung Hua Middle Schools No 1, 3 and 4.


The decision was made today after consultation with all members of the school board.

According to Management Board of Kuching Chung Hua Middle Schools 1, 3 and 4 chairman Dato Richard Wee, the decision was made in response to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s call for such measure.

“The decision was also made because we want to ensure the safety of all our teachers, students and their parents.

This is the time we work together to combat Covid-19 which has already been classified as an pandemic by World Health Organisation.”

“We also like to call on all our students and their parents to strictly observe all preventive measures such as keeping high degree of personal hygiene and minimising participating in any mass gathering or going to any place where there are a lot of people,” Wee told DayakDaily.

During a press conference this afternoon, Abang Johari has instructed all schools to extend their school holidays for another week until Mar 29, 2020.

All Tabika, Taska (preschools and kindergartens) and Sekolah Tahfiz in Sarawak, are instructed to close for two weeks, effective tomorrow, March 17,2020 while institutions of Higher Education, both government and private, are to defer their new academic session by two weeks, effective tomorrow, March 17, 2020.

In the last 3 days, Sarawak has recorded 34 positive cases of COVID-19 where 29 are “imported” cases. — DayakDaily
