KUCHING, Oct 30: The school fraternity must discuss and dare to oppose any activities that deviate from the guidelines set by Education Ministry (MOE) prior to organising ‘Palestinian Solidarity Week’.

Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in a statement today lauded MOE for its swift action in controlling the programme in schools that wish to organise it.

“Clear and strict guidelines set by the MOE are the best measures to control the programme so that the focus is limited to justice, peace and humanity.

“PKR Sarawak is confident that this step has greatly reduced the worries of various parties who may have mistakenly believed that the MOE wants to play politics of racism, religion and violence in all institutions/schools under its jurisdiction.

“Although the programme is not mandatory, schools that wish to organise the programme must discuss it with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and relevant parties and they must be brave to oppose any activities that deviate from the goals and guidelines set by the Ministry,” it said. — DayakDaily
