Save Bomba, police numbers on your phones for emergency, MBKS Mayor advises public

KUCHING, Feb 12: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng has advised the public to save important emergency services numbers especially Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) and police on their mobile phones which will come in handy in times of urgent needs.

Wee had yesterday went to the ground to check on the motorcycle repair workshop at Jalan Ellis here which caught fire in the early morning.

Upon his arrival together with MBKS Councillor Goh Tze Hui, the Bomba team gave a briefing on the fire incident which destroyed 100 motorcycles.


Following this, Wee expressed his sympathy and concern towards the fire victims.

He also thanked the Bomba for their fast response and successfully extinguishing the fire from spreading to other properties nearby.

He further reminded everyone to call the Bomba as soon as possible when encountering similar situation.

“With fast action, we might be able to save people’s life.

“Save Bomba’s and the police’s numbers in your mobile phones because these agencies will always be on standby when it concerns the safety of our people.

“We need work as a team to take care of each other’s safety and wellbeing,” he said in a statement issued yesterday.

On the same day, Wee and Goh also presented food aid to Community-based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) Sentuhan Kasih Kuching Association at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee.

On behalf of the Association, representative Chan Hui Liang expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to Wee and MBKS for the generous donation.
