Saudi Arabian company ACWA Power explores investment opportunities in green ammonia, hydrogen gas in Sarawak

KUCHING, Jan 25: ACWA Power, an international company based in Saudi Arabia, is considering investments in green ammonia and hydrogen gas projects in Sarawak.

Petroleum Sarawak (Petros) Group Chief Operations Officer Dr James Foo revealed that discussions between Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and ACWA Power, along with various agencies, have taken place to explore the significant potential in the region.

Dr Foo emphasized that ACWA Power is interested in investing in green ammonia and hydrogen gas, and ongoing discussions with state agencies such as Sarawak Energy (SEB), Petros, and SEDC Energy are expected to showcase the value of such investments in Sarawak.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Dr. Foo expressed hope that the discussions would instill confidence and present opportunities for investors in Sarawak.
