Sarikei, Lubok Antu upgraded to Covid-19 yellow zone

KUCHING, Jan 11: Both Sarikei and Lubok Antu are now Covid-19 yellow zones with one new case each today.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily Covid-19 statement today, reported a total of 11 yellow zones in the state.


The other nine Covid-19 yellow zones are Limbang, Beluru, Dalat, Selangau, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Bukit Mabong, Meradong and Bintulu.

Sebauh maintained as an orange zone with a total of 23 local transmission cases in the past 14 days.

Miri, Sibu and Kuching, on the other hand, are still the red zones with a total of 586 local transmission cases in the past 14 days.

On active clusters in the state, only two clusters remain without any increase in cases which are the Keranji Tabuan and Mador Clusters while the rest saw rise in the figures.

The Pasai Cluster recorded the highest increase of 157 local cases today, thus making the total cases to be 462. A total of 1,400 individuals have been screened where 888 were negative and 50 more are still awaiting laboratory test results.

While the Jelita Cluster reported six new local cases and Bukit Sekubong Cluster three, the Bah Sayap and Stutong Clusters both had an increase of two local cases.

With that, SDMC concluded a total of seven active clusters in Sarawak.—DayakDaily
