Sarawak’s tennis sensation Ryogo claims double triumph at MBPJ/Milo Junior Open 2023

KUCHING, Dec 19: Following his standout performance at the Tennis Malaysia Masters 2023, 11-year-old tennis prodigy Ryoga Kho from SJKC Stampin continued to leave his mark, this time at the MBPJ/Milo Junior Tennis Open Championship 2023, showcasing exceptional prowess and resilience to clinch both the Singles and Doubles titles in the U12 boys division.

According to a media release today, the tournament, hosted at the MBPJ Sports Complex in Kelana Jaya, Selangor, took place from Dec 13 to 18, where Ryoga triumphed over a field of 45 players in the Singles category.

In a nail-biting final, he faced stiff competition from 12-year-old Hariz Aiman of Negeri Sembilan, eventually emerging victorious with a hard-fought scoreline of 7-6(7-2), 1-6, 6-3.


Additionally, Ryoga teamed up with Mak Zoo-M of Selangor in the Doubles category, where their teamwork and dominance secured yet another championship title with a victory over the duo of Hariz Aiman and Ahmad Ashman from Negeri Sembilan, closing the match with a convincing score of 6-3, 6-2.

The spotlight of success also extended to Ryoga’s younger brother, Yoshi Kho (9-years-old), who also made an impressive mark in the championship. Yoshi reached the quarterfinals in the Singles category and advanced to the semifinals in the Doubles category of the U12 boys division.

In expressing their gratitude, both Kho brothers dedicated their victories to a robust support system that played a crucial role in their journey to success.
