KUCHING, Aug 7: Sarawakian vocalist Taylor Louise hopes to make the nation proud following an invitation to audition for the 20th series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ after spending two years applying for the British talent show competition.
In a Facebook post on Aug 5, she expressed happiness and appreciation after her application was selected, and was then invited to apply for the show. She also shared screenshots of the invitation from BGT and the confirmation for her audition, which is set for Sept 5.
“I’m truly happy, humbled, deeply grateful, excited, and honestly still in shock that, after applying for the past two years, I have finally received an invitation to audition for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in London after my application was selected.
“I know it’s only the beginning of the journey, and it’s just an audition, but if God opens this door, I would be so honoured to share a little voice from Sarawak, Malaysia, with the world.
“I have no idea yet how I’ll get there, but I believe that if this is God’s plan, He will make a way. Lord, if this is where You want me to be, please provide the way and guide every step of this journey,” she said.
She also thanked her family, teachers, coach, and those who have supported her.
‘Britain’s Got Talent’, often abbreviated as ‘BGT’, has been on air since 2007 and is widely regarded as one of the United Kingdom’s (UK) most recognised television competitions.
It is part of the global Got Talent franchise created by media mogul Simon Cowell, who is also a record producer and the founder of ‘X-Factor’, another British reality television music competition, which was responsible for the formation of English–Irish pop boy band One Direction consisting of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and the late Liam Payne who were also successful in their solo careers.
One of BGT’s most notable alums is Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who rose to fame in 2009 as a contestant on the third series of the television talent competition.
Although she finished as runner-up, she was signed to Syco Music in the UK and Columbia Records in the United States (US). She went on to receive two Grammy Award and Billboard Music Award nominations, a World Music Award, a Japan Gold Disc Award, and a Scottish Music Award, as well as three Guinness World Records. — DayakDaily
