KUCHING, April 5: The Sarawak government would know the periodic tax revenue figures for the region through its representative in the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).

In revealing this, its Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr Mohd Nizom Sairi said the tax revenue figures would be known periodically, through the Sarawak Financial Secretary Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit, (Ukas), Mohd Nizom said that such steps showed good cooperation between IRB and the Sarawak government in ensuring that taxpayers complied with paying their tax and an indication of economic recovery in the country.

Mohd Nizom revealed this to reporters after a courtesy call on Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

He added that the visit’s objective was to share information on the direct tax revenue obtained from Sarawak.

“I also shared about IRB operations in Sarawak. Alhamdulillah, what is needed is indeed all getting good cooperation from the state government,” he said. — DayakDaily
