KUCHING, Aug 25: An increasing number of Sarawak products are making their way to Singapore, with the latest being a shipment of 10 tonnes of tilapia that reached Singapore’s shores this month.
Chew Chang Guan, the CEO of Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (Statos), mentioned that Borneo Eco Fish from Sarawak recently sent a container containing 10 tonnes of tilapia to Sheng Siong Supermarket in Singapore this month.
Additionally, Singapore Airlines is now serving MOMA water, another Sarawak product, on their planes.
Furthermore, Sarawak’s three-layered tea, available in two flavors – pandan & coconut, and caramel, and labeled with Singapore Nutri-grade, is being sold in NTUC FairPrice Supermarket.
“It brings us great pride to witness an increasing number of products from Sarawak gaining recognition in the Singaporean market.
“We understand that entering the Singaporean market can be challenging due to various factors such as competition with similar products. However, Statos is dedicated to providing consistent support to exporters who are interested in exploring this market.
“We firmly believe that a stream of innovative products from Sarawak will soon be unveiled. Keep an eye on our social media channels for the latest updates,” Chew commented when contacted. — DayakDaily
