Sarawak’s para athlete Jap Soon Hung breaks own 2018 discus record, wins 2nd gold at Para Sukma

KUCHING, Sept 26: Sarawakian para athlete Jap Soon Hung has clinched his second gold medal at the 21st Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma) today, breaking his own record in the men’s discus F54 (wheelchair) category held at the Sarawak Stadium.

With an impressive throw of 21.07 metres, Jap surpassed his previous record of 20.86 metres, set during the 2018 Para Sukma in Perak.

Sabah’s Freddy Waldie took silver, and Muhamad Khairi Military Lorin claimed bronze.

The 39-year-old Kuching native also won a gold medal in the F54 shot put on Sept 24 and a silver in the F54 javelin throw yesterday (Sept 25). — DayakDaily
