Sarawak’s Mohd Adib breaks 100m breaststroke record, secures gold at 2024 Para Sukma

KUCHING, Sept 25: Sarawak para swimmer, Mohd Adib Iqbal Abdullah, made headlines yesterday (Sept 24) by not only securing a gold medal for the Sarawak swimming squad but also breaking the record in the men’s 100m breaststroke SB14 event at the 2024 Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma).

Adib set a new record with a time of 1:11.44 in the 2024 Para Sukma swimming event held at Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre, Petra Jaya.

In second place, Selangor athlete Saiful Rizal Abdullah took home the silver with a time of 1:16.39, while his teammate Muhammad Zhafri Adam Mohd Azmi claimed the bronze with a time of 1:18.50.

Born on June 29, 1999, the 25-year-old para swimmer is originally from Asajaya. — DayakDaily
