Sarawak’s daily Covid-19 case count breaks 200-mark — 222 categorised as mild, 4 as serious

KUCHING, Feb 10: The daily Covid-19 case count in Sarawak saw yet another increase today as 226 cases were reported, with 222 categorised as mild and four as critical cases.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) disclosed there were 118 cases in Category 1, 104 cases in Category 2, and four cases in Category 4.


The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases Statewide has thus risen to 253,626.

By districts, Miri registered the highest total at 75 cases, followed by Kuching with 72 cases and Sibu with 31.

Other districts with new infections comprised Lawas (9), Bintulu (9), Kapit (8), Limbang (6), Serian (5), Lundu (3) and Mukah (3).

Samarahan, Sarikei, Meradong, Sri Aman, and Simunjan recorded one case each.

Meanwhile, there were no reports of any new Covid-19 clusters, leaving yesterday’s Chinese New Year-related Kampung Semeba Cluster the only current active cluster in Sarawak.

No new Covid-19 deaths were disclosed in SDMC’s statement today. — DayakDaily
