Sarawak’s Alice Jawan Empaling appointed to Malaysian Aviation Commission

KUCHING, April 11: Sarawak Transport Ministry permanent secretary Dato Ir Alice Jawan Empaling has been appointed to the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom).

In a statement announcing her appointment today, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said she will serve a three-year term from March 28, 2023, to March 27, 2026.

He added that Alice had held several positions, including the Sarawak Buoys and Lights Board (LBAS) chairperson, Sarawak Road Safety Council executive chairperson, and Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) deputy chairperson.

She is also an adjunct professor with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak’s (Unimas) Engineering Faculty since 2021.

“Her expertise, knowledge, and passion for serving the people will play a pivotal role in pushing Malaysia’s aviation industry forward as we continue to develop a commercially viable civil aviation industry that is responsive to the people’s needs,” Loke said. — DayakDaily
