KUCHING, March 11: Sarawak’s little queen Aaisyah Batrisya Putit was crowned Mini Miss Global 2024 at the Kids and Teens Pageant Global 2024 in Kuala Lumpur last Friday (March 8).
The eight-year-old Malay beauty beat 5 other girls, namely fellow Malaysian Jemah Ammara, India’s Yukti Anubhav Rustagi, Indonesia’s Naura Irawan, Indonesia’s Chintya Loriana Nalle and the Philippines’ Althea Frhanccine Balala.
Following the victory, Aaisyah walked away with prizes amounting to USD3,000 including a trophy, certificate and a crown.
Aaisyah also won a number of subsidiary titles, namely Best Introduction Award, Best Interview Award, Darling of the Crowd, Most Fashionista Award, Most Charming Award, Kids and Teens Pageant Global Award 2024, Top 3 in National Costume and Top 3 in Talent.
Speaking to reporters during her arrival at Kuching International Airport (KIA) here last night (March 10), Aaisyah expressed her happiness over winning the pageant with just two months of preparation since January.
“I have always wanted to be a pageant (girl). However, when I grow up, I want to become a scientist,” she said.
Nevertheless, coming back to daily life, Aaisyah who is a student at SK RPR Jalan Astana, said she can’t wait to return to school and meet her classmates when the school term starts today (March 11).
“I want to thank my friends for supporting me,” she added.
Previously, Aaisyah won Mini Miss Global Malaysia 2023 which qualified her to represent Malaysia and to win the international title.
She will reign as the Mini Miss Global 2024 from March 2024 until March 2025.
“Throughout my reign, my plan is to give full commitment towards the organiser and make them proud of me as a title holder and focus on my studies,” she emphasised.
Aaisyah is the second of three siblings, with the other two being a 16-year-old brother and a 4-year-old sister.
Meanwhile, Kids and Teens Pageant Global founder Leo Raynold who is also a Sarawakian, stated that the pageant serves as a platform to train beauty queens from a young age in expressing themselves as what they want to be when they grow up.
“In this year’s second edition, everything went well, making it another well-known viral event. For the first time, this year, we have a major crown which was won by Aaisyah Batrisya.
“The preparation for this pageant is not easy, especially when it comes to kids because we are not dealing with contestants, but we are dealing with the parents and national directors,” he said in a statement, adding that language and time barriers were among the challenges during the pageant. — DayakDaily
