KUCHING, Oct 5: SarawakPass users can now access participating Sarawak and Federal digital services through a single integrated ecosystem following its successful integration with MyDigital ID.

The development was highlighted during the “Special Showcase: A New Milestone with SarawakPass” at the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2026 here today, witnessed by Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Under the integration, SarawakPass users can scan a MyDigital ID QR code to access participating Federal web services, while MyDigital ID users can similarly scan a SarawakPass QR code to access participating Sarawak web services.

The integration marks a new phase for SarawakPass, which was launched at IDECS 2025 as Sarawak’s digital gateway for secure access to government services.

According to a press release issued during the event, the State–Federal integration was implemented this year following a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Sarawak Government and the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) on Nov 28, 2025.

MyDigital ID chief executive officer Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim described the integration as a milestone in building a safer digital ecosystem, noting that the national digital identity platform now serves 14.1 million users through 203 integrations.

“Today, MyDigital ID serves 14.1 million users through 203 integrations, providing access to numerous digital services for the rakyat. In fact, since August 2025, MyDigital ID has recorded a total of 82 million logins.

“Through this integration, SarawakPass brings the trust of the national identity foundation closer to the people of Sarawak, tailored to Sarawak’s own needs,” he said.

He also congratulated the Sarawak government on the development and said MyDigital ID looked forward to continuing efforts to expand the digital ecosystem.

The integration will also be extended in the coming months to selected MyDigital ID-enabled mobile applications, allowing SarawakPass users to access these services through the platform.

The Sarawak government was represented by Sarawak Civil Service Digitalisation Unit (SCSDU) director Datu Grace Huong Siew Hung, while NACSA was represented by its deputy chief executive Noursilawati Abdul Halim, together with MyDigital ID Sdn Bhd deputy chief executive officer Azrin Aris.

The Sarawak government and NACSA also exchanged commemorative mementos to mark the integration, while MyDigital ID presented a token of appreciation to Abang Johari for the strategic collaboration.

Meanwhile, SarawakPass has expanded beyond government services through single sign-on integration with three corporate service providers, namely Sarawak Energy Berhad’s SEB Cares, Sarawak Water and AirBorneo.

Their participation in the SarawakPass ecosystem was acknowledged through plaque presentations to representatives of the three organisations.

With more organisations and services expected to come on board, SarawakPass is being developed beyond a single sign-on platform into a shared digital foundation that supports consent-based information sharing and more personalised and proactive service delivery.

The Sarawak government said the platform is aimed at making digital services more integrated and accessible, while improving ease of doing business and supporting the growth of Sarawak’s digital economy. — DayakDaily
