Sarawakian para keglers continue to shine at world meet

KUCHING, Jan 23: The national para keglers team continues to shine at the 2025 International Bowling Federation (IBF) Para Bowling World Championships with Sarawakians Abg Yahya Abg Azhar and Marcos Chang Hao Hong bringing glory to the nation by clinching two more gold medals in their respective events.

According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Abg Yahya delivered an outstanding performance yesterday at the 2025 IBF Para Bowling World Championships in Hong Kong.

He dominated the TPB4 Men Event category, striking gold with 3,746 pins knocked down.

This is Abg Yahya’s second gold medal from this World Meet after clinching a gold on Tuesday under the TPB4 Men’s Singles category.

The winning streak continued yesterday with Chang blitzing his way to the gold medal in the TPB9 Men’s Singles category, knocking down 1,393 pins.

Meanwhile, Abg Yahya also contributed another silver by teaming up with Mahamad Rizuan Madzhi in the TPB4 Men’s Doubles category with a total of 2,486 pins.

The national team’s brilliant track was followed by female athletes, Nur Syazwani Marais and Azeera Jalani, who won silver in the TPB4 Women’s Doubles category with a score of 2,120 pins.

Nur Amalina Mohd Mosadad also stepped up the winner’s podium by bringing back the silver medal for the TPB10 Women Singles category.

The national athletes represented by Sarawak participants will continue the competition today.
