KUCHING, Nov 8: A 58-year-old engineer from Sarawak became a millionaire overnight after his lucky number, 1111, secured him a staggering RM8.4 million in the Toto 4D Jackpot.
His winning combination of 1111 and 8609 on Oct 22 brought him this incredible windfall, according to a media release from STM Lottery Sd Bhd.
Explaining his stroke of luck, the winner revealed that he had consistently purchased this particular number pair for years, combining it with another 4D number using a System 3 ticket.
His loyalty to the number 1111, which often sold out in the Toto 4D game, finally paid off, granting him RM8,418,060.60 along with an additional RM336 as a bonus.
“I will share the winnings with my wife, and save some for my children’s education expenses and donate some to charitable organisations as I believe that helping those in need will also bring me good luck,” he said in the statement issued on Monday (Nov 6).
In a separate win, a 52-year-old accountant from Kuala Lumpur claimed a handsome RM12 million from the Power Toto 6/55 Jackpot on Oct 28 draw, having invested RM50 in lucky pick tickets.
The winner seized the opportunity to try his luck upon noticing the jackpot had surpassed RM10 million.
The winning numbers, 1, 5, 10, 17, 47 & 49, proved to be the golden combination that brought immense joy to the accountant and his wife when they discovered their winning tickets two days after the draw.
