KUCHING, Feb 14: Miss Malaysia World 2014 Dewi Liana Seriestha has launched her latest single titled ‘Cinta Abadi’ featuring a music video (MV) inspired by Sarawak’s myth of Puteri Sejinjang.

Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah officiated at the launching ceremony held at Borneo Cultures Museum here today.

According to Dewi who is of Bidayuh descent, ‘Cinta Abadi’ is her fourth single after ‘Hati Telah Dimiliki’, ‘Seindah Berdua’ and ‘I Love You’.

This latest release includes the use of Bidayuh musical equipment.

“The idea of composing this song came from the staging of the ‘Puteri Santubong’ musical theatre two years ago.

“It (‘Cinta Abadi’) specifically depicts that Puteri Sejinjang is a good princess,” she said.

The song ‘Cinta Abadi’ was sung with Anding Indrawani, a Malaysian singer/actor/host of Melanau and Bidayuh mixed descent.

At the event, Abdul Karim described Dewi as someone who has great talent in singing and acting.

“I want to see her (Dewi) release an album in the future. The ministry always supports Sarawak children who have this kind of talent,” he said.

Dewi is a Malaysian singer, actress, model as well as beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Malaysia World 2014.

She is also the first Malaysian to win Miss World Talent during Miss World 2014 in London, United Kingdom.
