KUCHING, June 7: Sarawak Water has mobilised its operations and technical teams have been mobilised to carry out intensive flushing works (water pipe cleaning) at various affected locations following an increase in complaints regarding discoloured (murky) water in several areas of the Kuching Division.
In a Facebook post, it explained that the issue is believed to have been caused by muddy water and sediment disturbances within the distribution pipeline system following changes in water flow and the ongoing stabilisation process of the water supply system.
“Sarawak Water is treating this matter seriously, and continuous field monitoring is being conducted to ensure that conditions return to normal as quickly as possible.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused and greatly appreciate consumers’ cooperation and patience during this period,” it said. — DayakDaily
