KUCHING, Jan 14: The Sarawak government will increase connectivity in the State to facilitate data transfer for the Central Database Hub (PADU).

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said a joint committee at the State level had been set up to scrutinise the PADU registration process.

“Among others, we will discuss the interior areas that do not have connectivity.

“If that area has no connectivity, we have to find another option to obtain the data,” he said during a press conference at Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters today.

He also mentioned that the committee will be joined by Federal Deputy Minister of Economy Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib and Sarawak Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 & State-Federal Relations) Dato Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

“We will organise a seminar to introduce the PADU registration process, and we need to increase connectivity to allow our data to be sent to the system.

“We will get the details from Hanifah,” he added.

As of Jan 11, 2024, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) reported that a total of 99,145 citizens of Sarawak had registered in the PADU system. — DayakDaily
