KUCHING, Aug 23: Sarawak will host the 25th edition of the Miss Tourism International World Final 2022/2023 from Nov 11 to 27.
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, said that with the implementation of such a programme, it can become a strategic target for the business sector.
Abdul Karim expressed his hope that it will help Sarawak become known around the world, and that the celebration will captivate foreign tourists.
He mentioned that the Sarawak government actively promotes the tourism industry in Sarawak and actively supports the private sector in promoting tourism-related activities.
“As part of the Sarawak government, the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts will continue to provide the best support possible to ensure the success of this event.
“This includes a series of promotional activities leading up to the 25th Miss Tourism International World Final 2022/2023, which will be co-hosted by the YAST Group and Touch International in Kuching in November of this year,” he said in a speech read by the Permanent Secretary of the Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Hii Chang Kee at the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between the YAST Group and North Kuching City Council (DBKU) at the Raia Hotel & Convention Centre here today.
The pageant will see 60 contestants from all over the world competing at the Raia Hotel & Convention Centre in Kuching.
Also present were the founder and chairman of YAST group and organising chairlady of the 25th Miss Tourism International World Final 2022/2023 Esther Law Lee Poh, Leaves marketing manager Jack Chai, vice president of Asean China Entrepreneurs Association Michael Liong representing the president of Asean China Entrepreneurs Association Dato Stanley Ling, Sin Chew Daily general manager Zhong Han Chen, See Hua Marketing Kuching sales manager Law Qing Loong, and other guests. — DayakDaily
