Sarawak strikes gold in tenpin bowling women’s doubles at Sukma 2024

KUCHING, Aug 17: Nur Hazirah Ramli and Lavinia Jia Jie Kho secured another gold medal for Sarawak in the tenpin bowling women’s doubles category at the 2024 Malaysia Games (Sukma).

According to a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday (Aug 16), the dynamic duo scored a combined total of 2,392 points, outscoring Selangor, who placed second with 2,271 points, and Johor, who took third place with 2,183 points.

In the men’s doubles category, Perak clinched the gold medal with a total score of 2,479 points, followed by Melaka, who earned silver with 2,459 points, and Penang, who secured the bronze with 2,389 points.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was present during the medal presentation ceremony, along with Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian and Sarawak Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu.

As of press time, Sarawak leads the Sukma 2024 medal tally with eight gold, eight silver, and six bronze medals. — DayakDaily
