Sarawak, South Korea’s Rebellion Inc. explore AI, semiconductor collaboration

KUCHING, Oct 1: Sarawak is reinforcing its position in the global semiconductor industry through a productive engagement session with South Korea’s leading technology company, Rebellions Inc.

The session was led by Sarawak Deputy Secretary (Economic Planning and Development), Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, while Rebellions Inc. was represented by its chief executive officer and co-founder, Park Sunghyun, alongside strategy director Kim Haejin and InterVest director John Ha.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news, discussions centred on opportunities for collaboration in semiconductor development, aligned with the Sarawak Semiconductor Roadmap and the State’s ambition to establish itself as a global semiconductor hub by 2030.

The dialogue was described as a significant step toward deepening international strategic partnerships to accelerate Sarawak’s semiconductor advancement.

Park expressed Rebellions Inc.’s enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting the exciting prospects of working with Malaysia, particularly Sarawak, to explore joint innovations in artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor technologies.
