Sarawak siblings, Ryoga and Yoshi, storm into top 8 at Tennis Malaysia Masters 2023

KUCHING, Dec 14: Two promising tennis prodigies from Sarawak, Ryoga Kho and his younger brother Yoshi Kho, brought pride to their hometown by securing spots among the top 8 players in the Tennis Malaysia Masters 2023 tournament.

Their outstanding performances garnered well-deserved recognition in the recent Under-10 and Under-12 boys categories at the tournament held at the National Tennis Centre in Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur, from Dec 9 to 13.

In a press release, it was highlighted that 11-year-old Ryoga displayed his tennis prowess by navigating through the round-robin group stage, overcoming formidable opponents from Johor and Negeri Sembilan to secure a spot in the semifinals.

Despite a valiant effort, Ryoga succumbed to the eventual champion from Johor in the Boys Under 12 Singles category, marking an impressive journey throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, the younger 9-year-old sibling, Yoshi, showcased remarkable resilience by triumphing over opponents from Johor and Pahang, securing a place in the semifinals of the Under-10 category.

The accomplishment of both Ryoga and Yoshi in reaching the semifinals signifies their positions among the top 4 players in their respective categories.
