Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 served as a flagship regional platform to strengthen Sarawak’s brand as authentic, green, and globally connected, while remaining deeply rooted in multicultural harmony and ecological stewardship in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Tourism in Sarawak is not a slogan. It is a promise. A promise to protect what is sacred, to uplift what is often overlooked, and to balance what is beautiful with what is essential,” said Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

He also highlighted Kuching’s designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, where the State’s unique culinary heritage reflects deep ancestral ties between the people, land, and identity.

Jointly organised by the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS) and the Sarawak government, with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, the Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 emphasised meaningful collaboration over mass promotion.

Visitors explored unique arts and crafts and discovered exclusive travel deals from agents
and hotels, turning their inspiration for Borneo’s hidden gem into a future itinerary at Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 at Suntec Singapore.

The event brought together tourism players, trade representatives, investors, and cultural groups to explore opportunities in tourism, food, culture, and the creative economy.

Sarawak’s participation also highlighted its progress under the Post-Covid Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), which places tourism as a key driver of inclusive and sustainable growth.

“As we look toward 2026 and beyond, our commitment is clear: tourism must serve both our environment and our people. Everything we do is grounded in global alignment, with the Sustainable Development Goals, with Visit Malaysia Year 2026, and with the shared ASEAN vision of a resilient, inclusive, and prosperous region,” Abdul Karim added.

Themed “Experience Sarawak: Borneo’s Hidden Gem,” the Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 featured exhibitions, cultural performances, culinary demonstrations, business networking, and a high-level conference. Visitors were treated to a multi-sensory journey through Sarawak’s diverse tourism, culture, and innovation landscape.

The event marked an important milestone in strengthening Sarawak–Singapore relations, inviting regional audiences to discover the State’s unique charm and positioning Singapore as a strategic gateway to connect Sarawak with the world. — DayakDaily
