KUCHING, March 12: There is a shortage of Iban language teachers in Sarawak especially in primary schools.

This was revealed by Sarawak Education Department director Datu Dr Azhar Ahmad when met by the media after the First Day of School programme at SMK Matang Jaya here yesterday (March 11), TVS reported.

“However, for the Chinese language subject, we do not have any problem in primary and secondary schools,” he said.

Echoing the statement of Education Ministry director-general Azman Adnan, Azhar said there will be a ‘no teaching and learning’ approach that takes place in the first week of school.
