Sarawak sees 13th day of no local transmission of Covid-19

KUCHING, Sept 11: Sarawak entered the 13th day of no new cases of local transmission of Covid-19 today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today said there were no positive cases of Covid-19 reported.


With no new cases, the committee said the number of cumulative Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 700 cases.

SDMC said there were four patients who were treated at the isolation ward in the hospitals.

It added two patients were being treated at the Bintulu Hospital, one patient at Sibu Hospital and one patient at Miri Hospital.

SDMC said there was one patient who recovered and was discharged from the hospital.

The committee added that there were five new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) while two PUI cases were awaiting laboratory results.

SDMC said the Alam cluster remains the only Covid-19 cluster which is still active in Sarawak involving eight patients.

Out of the eight patients, seven patients have recovered while one patient was still being treated at the Bintulu Hospital.

On another note, SDMC said there were 40 persons who returned to Sarawak from overseas and registered into hotels for quarantine as person-under-surveillance (PUS).

The committee said there were 659 PUS who are undergoing quarantine at 11 hotels throughout Sarawak while a total of 23,762 PUS have completed their quarantine period today. — DayakDaily
