Sarawak returns to green status with zero Covid-19 cases today

KUCHING, Aug 12: No new Covid-19 infections were reported in Sarawak today while the status of Kuching and Serian districts have turned green, putting Sarawak back into a green zone state.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement today, thus informed that the state tally of positive cases is maintained at 681.

Only three patients are still receiving treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) with none admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or requiring respiratory support.


No new recoveries have been recorded today and as such, the total number of recovered cases in Sarawak is 659 or 96.77 per cent of total positive cases so far.

SDMC added that the number of active clusters in Sarawak is maintained at 10 namely the Engineering Company Cluster with eight cases, Mambong Cluster (7), Healthcare Cluster (3), Jupiter Cluster (3), Stutong Market Cluster (7), Kuching Jetty Cluster (2), Sentosa Cluster (31), Melbourne PUI Cluster (3), Kuching Construction Company Cluster (2) and Satok Market Cluster (4).

Sarawak also reported 12 more person-under-investigation (PUI) with no cases awaiting laboratory test results.

In addition, 84 more person-under-surveillance (PUS) have been checked in to identified hotels to undergo quarantine.

As of today, there were a total number of 854 individuals undergoing quarantine in 16 hotels throughout the state. —DayakDaily
