Sarawak reports zero new Covid-19 cases

KUCHING, Oct 1: Sarawak recorded zero cases of Covid-19 today.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Embas in a press conference today revealed that the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remains at 713.


“There were no new cases which were recovered and discharged from the hospital.

“The total cases which are receiving treatment and isolated in hospitals also remain at 12, that are six in the isolation ward at the Sarawak General Hospital, five in Miri Hospital and one in Bintulu Hospital.

“No Covid-19 case is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) today,” he added.

Uggah who is also the Deputy Chief Minister disclosed there were no new deaths reported while the death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak is unchanged at 19 persons.

There were 12 new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases while one PUI case is awaiting laboratory test results.

Uggah said Kuching and Lawas districts remained classified as Covid-19 yellow zones as there were three local transmission cases in Lawas and one in Kuching within the past 14 days.

He added, the balance of the state’s 28 districts maintained their Covid-19 green zone status. — DayakDaily
