Sarawak reports zero new Covid-19 cases, one active case being treated

KUCHING, Sept 16: Only one Covid-19 patient is still receiving treatment in Sibu Hospital as two recoveries and no new Covid-19 cases were reported in Sarawak today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today disclosed that one patient in Hospital Bintulu and a second in Miri Hospital have recovered and were discharged.

As such, the total number of recovered cases in Sarawak is now 680 or 97.14 per cent of total Covid-19 cases so far.


With zero Covid-19 cases recorded today, the state’s tally of positive cases remains unchanged at 700.

In addition, only one cluster remains active in Sarawak, which is the Alam Cluster in Bintulu, but all its eight cases have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

Meanwhile, Sarawak also reported 21 more Persons-Under-Investigation (PUI) with two cases pending laboratory test results.

Additionally, 22 more Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) have been checked into identified hotels to undergo quarantine.

As of today, there are a total of 699 individuals undergoing quarantine in 11 hotels throughout the state. —DayakDaily
