Sarawak reports 4th consecutive day of zero new Covid-19 cases

KUCHING, Sept 3: There were zero new Covid-19 cases reported in Sarawak for the fourth consecutive day.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases remains at 699.

On a related issue, Uggah reported only one active cluster left in Sarawak which is the Alam cluster in Bintulu involving eight Covid-19 cases up as of today.

“There were no new recoveries or discharges from any hospitals for the day, which makes the number of recovery cases remain at 663 or 94.85 per cent of total cases.

“A total of seven patients are still receiving treatment in isolation wards. There are 11 cases in Bintulu, five in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and one in Miri.

“The number of fatality cases remains at 19,” he added.

Meanwhile, Uggah revealed there was a total of two new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases and zero cases awaiting laboratory test results.

There are 113 Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) checked into various hotels across Sarawak for quarantine.

There is now a total of 675 individuals under quarantine in 12 hotels throughout Sarawak while 23,326 PUS have completed their 14-day quarantine. — DayakDaily
