KUCHING, Dec 29: Sarawak recorded 23 new Covid-19 cases in eight districts overnight with no fatalities.
This brings the cumulative total of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak to 252,262 cases while the overall death toll remains at 1,615.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, stated that six cases were found in Lawas followed by Kuching and Sibu which had four cases each.
Bintulu, Miri, Limbang and Telang Usan reported two cases each, while Kabong reported one case.
Of the new cases, two patients with pneumonia are under Category 3, while 12 cases with no symptoms are under Category 1 and nine patients with with mild symptoms are under Category 2 .
Currently, there are no active clusters in Sarawak.
Meanwhile, the authorities also issued 15 compounds in Kuching in the most recent 24-hour period for various violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the State.
A total of 13 compounds were issued for failure to scan QR Code for MySejahtera or record attendance before entering a premises and two compounds for failure to prepare body temperature scanning device and QR Code. — DayakDaily
