Sarawak registers 658 new Covid-19 cases, Kuching tops list with 228, followed by Sibu (119)

KUCHING, Sept 26: Sarawak registers 658 new Covid-19 cases during Epid (Epidemiology) week 38 as Kuching tops the list with 228 cases, followed by Sibu (119).

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said other districts that reported new cases are Miri (81), Bintulu (57), Serian (29), Samarahan (18), Sarikei (18), Bau (15), Dalat (12) and Serian (11).

This include 20 other districts, namely in Sri Aman (9), Lubok Antu (8), Betong (6), Daro (6), Julau (6), Asajaya (5), Pakan (4), Kanowit (4), Saratok (4), Julau (2), and one case each in Limbang, Meradong, Tatau, Tanjung Manis, Matu, Kabong, Marudi, Beluru, Song and Belaga.


As of Epid Week 38, the total cumulative number of cases recorded in the State stands at 315,162.

According to SDMC, 17 of the cases are under Category 3, 4 and 5, while 641 other cases are in Category 1 and 2.

Two Covid-19 related death were also reported in Kuching and Sibu. – DayakDaily.
