Sarawak registers 588 Covid-19 new cases with Kuching topping list with 106 cases

KUCHING, June 2: Sarawak reports 588 new Covid-19 cases with Kuching contributing to the highest number of 106 today.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Kuching, Miri, Sarikei and Sibu districts accounted for 284 or 48.30 percent of today’s new cases.
Next to Kuching is Miri which registered 67 new cases and followed by Sarikei (61), Sibu (50), Samarahan (41), Tatau (38), Bintulu (35), Selangau (24), Asajaya (23), Sri Aman (22), Kapit (21), Bau (18), Beluru (11), Simunjan (11), Kanowit (10), Betong (7), Pakan (6), Marudi (6), Pusa (5), Subis (5), Dalat (5), Meradong (4), Mukah (4), Serian (3), Lundu (3) dan Sebauh (2).
The committee said out of the 588 cases, only 70 of them showed symptoms of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, as of today, there are 8,456 active cases being treated in hospitals and low-risk treatment and quarantine centres (PKRC) across Sarawak.
SDMC also announced that there were 427 cases of recovery who were allowed to be discharged today, totalling recovery cases to 39,750 or recovery rate at 81.76 percent.
Today’s positive cases has brought the cumulative tally of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak to 48,620. — DayakDaily
