KUCHING, Oct 1: Sarawak registers 2,413 new Covid-19 cases today with 12 of them or 0.5 per cent categorised as being in critical condition.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said of the 12 cases, one patient (0.04 per cent) is in Category 3 who developed pneumonia but can still breathe on their own, six patients (0.25 per cent) are in Category 4 who need oxygen supply, while five Category 5 patients (0.21 per cent) need a ventilator to breathe.
Meanwhile, the remaining 2,401 new cases or 99.5 per cent are in Category 1 (no symptoms) and Category 2 (mild symptoms).
“There are 453 cases (18.77 per cent) in Category 1 while 1,948 cases (80.73 per cent) are in Category 2,” it said.
SDMC also mentioned that Kuching district took the lead in the number of cases with 787, followed by Miri (307), Sibu (186), Sri Aman (123), Bintulu (117), Samarahan (87), Serian (78), Bau (78), Betong (68), Saratok (66), Lundu (55), Mukah (47), Limbang (46), Pusa (46), Lawas (37), Sarikei (34), Kabong (34), Simunjan (33), Subis (32), Kapit (28) and Asajaya (26).
Districts registering less than 20 new cases are Lubok Antu (18), Meradong (15), Marudi (10), Song (6), Matu (6), Pakan (6), Tebedu (6), Tatau (5), Belaga (4), Daro (4), Bukit Mabong (4), Selangau (4), Beluru (3), Telang Usan (3), Sebauh (2), Kanowit (1) amd Julau (1).
Dalat and Tanjung Manis did not record any new Covid-19 cases today. — DayakDaily
