Sarawak records zero new Covid-19 cases, Kuching still in red

KUCHING, Nov 1: Sarawak’s tally of Covid-19 cases remains at 1,055 with no new cases reported today, revealed State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) acting chairman Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing.

The state still has six active clusters which comprise the Besi Cluster (12 cases), Abell Cluster (15 cases), Baki Cluster (33 cases), Seladah Cluster (nine cases), Greenhill Cluster (91 cases) and Wisma Saberkas Cluster (44 cases).


“Today, Kuching remains as red status with a cumulative number of 58 local transmission cases in the past 14 days.

“Miri and Lawas also remain as yellow statuses. There is now a total of one Covid-19 red zone, two yellow zones and 37 green zones in Sarawak,” Masing disclosed during in a daily press conference to give Covid-19 updates for the state here today.

Masing also revealed five cases have recovered and were discharged of hospitals. No patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and no new deaths were reported.

Meanwhile, he added, there was a total of 38 new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases with two cases awaiting laboratory test results.

There were 108 Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) who were registered into various hotels across Sarawak to be quarantined.

There are 3,258 individuals currently under quarantine in 31 hotels throughout Sarawak while a total of 32,886 PUS have completed their 14-day quarantine so far. — DayakDaily
