Sarawak records zero Covid-19 cases today

KUCHING, Sept 6: Sarawak recorded zero positive cases of Covid-19 today.

The information was revealed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement.


With no new cases today, the committee said the number of cumulative Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 699 cases.

It added there were 11 patients who were being treated at the isolation ward in the hospitals.

Breaking down into details, the committee said seven patients were being treated at Bintulu Hospital, three patients at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and one patient at Miri Hospital.

SDMC said there was one patient who recovered from Covid-19 and was discharged from the hospital.

The committee said there were eight new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) reported today while one PUI case was awaiting laboratory results.

It said the Alam cluster in Bintulu which involved eight persons remained the active Covid-19 cluster in Sarawak.

Additionally, SDMC said there were 62 persons who registered into hotels for quarantine under person-under-surveillance (PUS) today.

It added that with the additional PUS, there were a total of 644 PUS who are undergoing quarantine at 12 hotels throughout Sarawak.

SDMC said a total of 23,555 PUS have completed their quarantine period today. —DayakDaily
