Sarawak records zero Covid-19 cases for sixth consecutive day

KUCHING, July 4: Sarawak continues to record zero positive Covid-19 cases, entering into its sixth consecutive day with no new cases today.

The information was revealed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement.


With no new confirmed cases, the committee said the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 571 cases.

It added there were 12 new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) while three cases were awaiting test results.

Nonetheless, SDMC said there were still nine Covid-19 patients who being treated at the isolation ward of health facilities while there were no recoveries recorded today.

As for Covid-19 active cases in Sarawak, the committee said there were four each in Kuching and Bintulu and one active case in Sibu.

The committee added the death toll remains at 17 persons.

On another note, SDMC said there were 87 persons who arrived into Sarawak and registered into hotels as persons-under-surveillance (PUS) today.

With the additional PUS, the committee said there were currently 719 PUS being quarantined at 13 hotels throughout Sarawak.

SDMC added a total of 17,481 PUS have completed their 14 days quarantine today.—DayakDaily
