Sarawak records 8 new Covid-19 cases, 94 new PUI cases

KUCHING, March 28: Sarawak has recorded an additional eight new positive cases of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) today.

Seven of the individuals tested positive for the coronavirus were from Kuching and one from Sibu, said State Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

“This has brought the cumulative number of positive cases in Sarawak to 118,” he told a press conference here, today.

As for patient under investigation (PUI), Uggah revealed there are 94 new cases.

Breaking down the geographical areas, he said 26 cases were reported in Kuching, Bau (2), Serian (2), Sri Aman (2), Sarikei (25), Meradong (8), Sibu (1), Dalat (1), Bintulu (10) and Miri (17).

In this regards, he urged those who have close contact with Covid-19 patients to report themselves to the nearest hospital.

Uggah, who is also Sarawak deputy chief minister, said the state is serious and adamant in implementing the movement control order (MCO) to combat Covid-19. — DayakDaily
