Sarawak records 415 new Covid-19 cases, 8 in serious categories

KUCHING, April 6: Among the 415 new Covid-19 cases reported in Sarawak today, eight have been classified as being in serious condition.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), there were four Category 3’s, two Category 4’s, and two Category 5’s.


For the milder categories, there were 108 patients who had no symptoms and 299 who developed only mild symptoms.

District-wise, Kuching remained the biggest contributor, registering 131 new cases.

Those with double-digit case numbers were Miri (76), Bintulu (47), Sibu (46), Serian (20), Tebedu (12), Samarahan (10), and Sarikei (10).

Other districts with new infections included Sri Aman, Kanowit (7 each), Bau, Betong, Tatau (6 each), Pusa (5), Dalat (4), Mukah, Simunjan (3 each), Limbang, Saratok, Lubok Antu, Kabong, Meradong, Matu (2 each), Lundu, Lawas, Julau, and Sebauh (1 each).

With that, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak increased to 301,085 as of this day.

Meanwhile, there were no new Covid-19 deaths or clusters reported today. There are now six active clusters in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
