Sarawak records 1,963 Covid-19 cases, near 2,000-mark for 3 consecutive days

KUCHING, March 10: Sarawak has recorded 1,963 new Covid-19 cases today, just 37 cases shy away from the 2,000-mark.

This is the third consecutive day that Sarawak registered a daily four-digit caseload following an improvement down to 857 cases on March 7.


According to the report from the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), Kuching topped the list with 699 cases, followed by Miri (303), Sibu (177), Bintulu (148), and Serian (101).

Districts with two-digit numbers were Samarahan (71), Sri Aman (53), Bau (52), Sarikei (48), Tanjung Manis (40), Lubok Antu (36), Limbang (26), Pakan (14), Dalat (14), Daro (14), Mukah (13), Betong (13), Simunjan (13), Marudi (13), Saratok (13), Kanowit (13), Kabong (12), Matu (12), and Lawas (10).

Other districts with new infections included Pusa (9), Meradong (8), Subis (7), Kapit (6), Lundu (5), Beluru (4), Asajaya (3), Julau (3), Sebauh (2), Tatau (2), Telang Usan (2), Belaga (1), Song (1), Tebedu (1), and Selangau (1).

Only one district, that is Bukit Mabong, remained Covid-19 free today with zero new patients.

In terms of clinical categories, there were 764 Category 1’s and 1,178 Category 2’s.

The number of serious categories showed consequential increase as well as SDMC reported six Category 3’s, nine Category 4’s, and six Category 5’s.

While the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak was updated to 274,105, the death toll remained unchanged at 1,639 with zero new deaths today. — DayakDaily
