KUCHING, Sept 3: Sarawak is intensifying preparations to host the 21st edition of the Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma XXI), which will take place from Sept 22 to 28 this year.
According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) news report, the entire event is set to be held in Kuching, as confirmed by Sukma and Para Sukma chief executive officer (CEO) Datu Hii Chang Kee.
Hii, who is also Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Operation), said in an interview with KLIA TV at his office here today that the biennial games will feature 10 sports and 334 events.
Ukas added that the interview focused on Sarawak’s preparations to host Para Sukma XXI.
The sports slated for competition include athletics, swimming, badminton, table tennis, tenpin bowling, lawn bowls, chess, powerlifting, archery, and boccia.
A total of 15 contingents from 13 states, along with the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan, will be participating in Para Sukma XXI. — DayakDaily
