TOKYO, Dec 17: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg continued his official working visit to Tokyo, Japan, by attending a series of meetings with industry leaders at a prominent hotel in the city today.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Abang Johari and his delegation held discussions with HighChem Co. Ltd and Integrated Design & Engineering Holdings Co. Ltd (ID&E) at 3pm local time.
This was followed by meetings with representatives from Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsui OSK Line.
The three-hour-long discussions centred on bilateral cooperation in key areas, including pumped hydro energy storage, petrochemical industry, hydrogen, bunkering supply, and maritime logistics.
The Premier was accompanied by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan; Sarawak Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi; Sarawak Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment, Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh; and Sarawak Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni.
Also present were Sarawak Attorney General Dato Sri Saferi Ali, Sarawak Financial Secretary Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, Sarawak Deputy Secretary for Economic Planning and Development Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain, Sarawak Energy Berhad chairman Dato Ibrahim Baki, along with other senior Sarawak government officials.
Later in the evening, Abang Johari is scheduled to attend the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) and Pertama Ferroalloy/Asia Minerals at 7pm local time. — DayakDaily
