Sarawak Premier receives Distinguished Honorary Fellow Award at Asean Engineering Conference in Bali

KUCHING, Nov 22: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was honoured with the Distinguished Honorary Fellow Award by the Asean Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO).

According to a media release, this exclusive recognition is reserved for individuals who have showcased exceptional contributions to the engineering profession, institutional advancement, and significant national endeavours.

The prestigious award was presented to the Premier during a ceremony held in conjunction with the 41st Conference of the Asean Federation of Organisations of Engineers (CAFEO) in Denpasar, Bali yesterday (Nov 21).

Abang Johari, arriving in Bali the previous afternoon, also delivered a brief address to 1,000 delegates representing 10 Asean countries.

The three-day conference, attended by over 1,000 delegates, provided a platform for engineers, professionals, and experts from the 10 Asean countries to exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the field of engineering.

For the record, Indonesia became the 10th country in Asia to host this year’s conference with the theme ā€˜Igniting Asean’s Blue Economy and Green Energyā€™.

Accompanying Abang Johari were Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, Sarawak Financial Secretary Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar and other government officers. ā€” DayakDaily
