Sarawak Premier receives courtesy call from new Shell Malaysia chair Siti Hurrairah Sulaiman

KUCHING, Feb 7: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from the newly-appointed Shell Malaysia country chair Siti Hurrairah Sulaiman at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

Siti who hails from Kuching is the first woman ever appointed as the country chair of Shell Malaysia effective from Jan 1, 2023.

According to a report by Office of Premier of Sarawak (OPS), Siti during the courtesy call, updated the Premier on Shell’s business and operations in Malaysia that had recently seen the company’s headquarters relocated from Kuala Lumpur to Miri.


Siti was a Shell scholar who graduated with a first-class degree in mechanical engineering from the Imperial College in London.

She started her career as an operations engineer in Shell Malaysia upstream and later held various high positions in Shell before being appointed to lead Shell Malaysia.

Also present during the visit was Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) Group chief executive officer Janin Girie. — DayakDaily
