KUCHING, June 19: Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) reaffirmed its position in supporting the party’s central leadership (MPP)’s decision to nominate party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the candidate for prime minister.
State PKR information and communication chief Abun Sui Anyit said the state PKR will give full support to the party leadership to uphold the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) presidential council’s decision which named Anwar as the candidate for the position of prime minister.
“Therefore, the state PKR is confident that the MPP will be making the best decision for the party, including upholding the spirit of camaraderie among PH members, based on the original objective of the party, and also for the benefit of the people,” he said in a statement today.
Abun also said the state PKR is also keen on following the latest development in the PH leadership.
“The state PKR has a representative in the MPP and will certainly become the voice for Sarawak at the party’s central leadership council,” he noted.
He was also confident that given PKR is the national multi-racial party with 222 branches nationwide, the MPP decision’s will take into account Sarawak and other states in Malaysia.
