KUCHING, Feb 28: The Sarawak Pavilion at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025 will highlight the State’s commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening strategic partnerships, and positioning Sarawak as a leading digital and technology hub in the region.
The Sarawak Government, through the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), aims to strengthen its global presence by showcasing the State’s progress in the digital economy, investment opportunities, renewable energy, and smart city initiatives at MWC Barcelona, the world’s premier connectivity and technology event.
In a media release today, SMA announced that the pavilion will feature key government agencies, state government-linked companies (GLCs), and private sector partners, aligning with the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and the Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint 2030.
Scheduled from March 3 to 6, 2025, at Fira Gran Via, Barcelona, MWC Barcelona provides a global platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to showcase advancements in 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), satellite technology, and next-generation connectivity.
With over 101,000 participants from 205 countries and territories expected, the event presents a strategic opportunity for Sarawak to position itself as a regional leader in digital innovation.
A key highlight will be the official launch of the Sarawak Pavilion on the first day, featuring Sarawak’s achievements in digital economy, smart city solutions, and emerging technologies.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg reaffirmed Sarawak’s vision for digital transformation and economic growth through global partnerships at MWC Barcelona 2025.
“The Sarawak Pavilion at MWC Barcelona reflects our dedication to fostering innovation, building strategic alliances, and positioning Sarawak as a leading digital and technology hub in the region.
“We invite investors, technology leaders, and global enterprises to explore the vast opportunities Sarawak offers as we move towards a future powered by technology and sustainability,” he said.
