SINGAPORE, April 23: The Sarawak Pavilion was officially launched at the Food and Hotel Asia (FHA)-Food & Beverage (F&B) 2024, Singapore’s largest B2B (business-to-business) trade show, at the Max Atria Singapore Expo today.

In a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), covering 65,000 square metres of exhibition space with 70 international pavilions, Sarawak joined 1,500 exhibitors from 50 countries and regions in the four-day event from April 23 to 36.

Sarawak Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry, and Investment, Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, attended the inauguration of the Sarawak Pavilion under the management of the Sarawak Tourism and Trade Office, Singapore (Statos).

He had the opportunity to witness various types of culinary dishes such as kek lapis, Sarawak laksa spices, three-layer coffee, and fresh empurau fish and commented that it was a suitable platform to promote Sarawak products that can attract visitors.

“Sarawak’s involvement in FHA F&B over the past three years has really proven to be an opportunity to showcase the uniqueness of food and drinks from the Land of the Hornbill and may attract the interest of visitors.

“I think this Sarawak Pavillion will be more famous in the future with more attractive and competitive products in the international market.

“More importantly, we can penetrate the international market because the Sarawak market is not as big, so we give opportunities for traders or entrepreneurs to expand their business,” he said after the inauguration ceremony.

Earlier, Statos chief executive officer Chew Chang Guan said that to position Sarawak as a leader in agribusiness, the Sarawak Pavilion this year has 32 exhibitors representing well-known entrepreneurs from Sarawak.

“Our aim is not only to attract interest but to foster continued engagement and purchase in our food and beverage sector, thereby positioning Sarawak in the global market,” said Chew. — DayakDaily
